ReMade (again)

When I was doing placements back in 2008/9, something I would do is collect scrap paper that had been printed on and discarded, and I would make A5 sketchbooks and gift them to the designers of that studio or agency. They were very much appreciated by some, particularly when I customized them for each person, as I had at Blue Marlin (surfer boy got a surf baby book and another designer had her child's drawing on her desk which I photocopied for her book cover). Now that I don't have a neat little spiral machine (my binding of choice at the time) I've decided to make pocket sized booklets which I've folded, sewn into sections and glued into the cover. The printed pages are in the folds, while the white side is free to write on. I've only used found materials, which is why most covers are from magazines and a local free press zine called Avant Garde. I'll be selling these at Pantheon Gallery's Urban Soul music and art festival in September. For the meantime, here are some shots:
