The chalkboard post

An old school technique that never seems to disappoint that is both easy and cheap for anyone to achieve. Here are different ideas of what has been done, it's up to you to find a new application. I have also previously posted about 'Idea Paint' which is the white-board version of chalk.

You can also custom-mix your choice of colour by using unsanded tile grout and flat-finish latex paint in any shade. See the 'how-to' on Martha Stewart's site (who else?). If you're super busy / clumsy / not bothered...Hudson has a selection of ready-mix colours. You didn't even have to look any further than this post.
