Nestle Chocolate Factory in Mexico, designed by
Rojkind Arquitectos, is one of the most unsusual chocolate museums you're likely to see. Completed in 2007, the 634 sp.m museum had a 300m long facade facing a motorway. The faceted origami caterpillar contains abstract shapes, with a reception area, theatre for visitors to experience details of the chocolate-making process, a museum shop and a tunnel to extending to the existing old factory. As much as the forms push boundaries with angular geometric shapes, so was the time scale pushed to the limit. The extension was finished in just 2 and a half months including design and construction.
